Tranquil Place to be Date: (Thursday, December 30, 2010)
I was more than pleased to write a testimonial of my short time spent at the Lazy M. I was lucky enough to spend a quite Saturday at the ranch with my husband and a few friends. Randy and Marcel were so hospitable; greeting us outside before we even got to the door of the main lodge, and giving us such a warm welcome.
We spent part of the day looking around, at the changes that have been made since our last visit and sharing conversations of the dreams that are in the process of being built now and some that are still in the dreaming and designing stages.
We sat and visited in the cozy sitting room, listening to the logs crackle in the wood burning stove. The sitting room with the plants, library shelves and large windows is such a cozy place to be, I imagined just curling up and having an afternoon nap or just grabbing a good book and spending the afternoon in quiet solitude; just me and my book. The lodge also has a beautiful deck which overlooks the river and in the sunshine is just a spectacular place to sit.
We went out for a walk along the forest paths and along the river, just enjoying mother nature in all her splendour. My husband and I actually spent some quiet time just sitting on the river bank enjoying the peace & quiet. I went for a walk in the meditation labyrinth in the afternoon, and had a few rather interesting things come up for me as I sauntered through it.
We had lunch and supper at the lodge that day and I must say that Randy & Marcel are fantastic cooks.
The quality and the flavor of the food, was comparable to some of the nicest restaurants that I have been to. The service was also excellent, what a treat to have someone else do all the cooking and cleaning. I have to also comment on the huge board room table that they have to eat at, it is awesome.
After supper my husband and I wandered down by the river and just laid down on the bridge, (there are benches there to sit on, we just chose to lay on the bridge) and looked at the stars and the moon and listened to the water trickling by, (what a romantic spot).
The lodge is clean and well kept and is just such a tranquil place to be, to just let all your stress and worries go and just relax.
I am hoping to plan a couple of week-ends at the Lazy M, maybe one with a few couples that we know and one with just a bunch of girls. With the lodge basically to yourselves other than when Randy and Marcel are cooking for you, it would be a great place to get away. Also there are horseshoe pits and a hot tub that I have yet to try out, perhaps....next time.
